A large data archive from the U.S. Air Force ​Solar Optical Observing Network (SOON)  has been pioneered by Dr. Alan Kiplinger, Fellow and Senior Research Associate, Center of Integrated Plasma Studies (CIPS), University of Colorado, Boulder. The SOON data are generously provided by the United States Air Force (USAF) for non-commercial use only. The data archive is called SOONAR for SOON ARchive. The archive goes back to the early 1990's.  SOONAR includes collaboration with Sara Martin at Helio Research, Inc. who is helping with data collection.  SOONAR data is an extremely valuable scientific resource.  The SOON image data is generated daily, but the USAF does not need the data longer term.  Hence, SOONAR archives this data for future scientific use.  Image files are stored in extended FITS format.
